A few months ago, my company and I took a well-deserved break from the everyday hustle and headed to “Örums Nygård Österlen Farm Hotel Spa & Conference” in Skåne, Sweden. It was one of those trips that effortlessly combined relaxation, fun, and team bonding—just what we all needed.
We started our day with a wonderful walk in sunny Måryd, which was the perfect way to kickstart the day. After our walk, we went for lunch in Flyinge at “Gastro Gaspari.” The food was incredible, and it gave us the energy we needed for the rest of our adventure.
We arrived to a delightful high-noon tea, which set the perfect tone for the day. There’s something incredibly comforting about sitting with your colleagues, sipping warm tea, and enjoying the farm hotel’s serene vibe. The tea felt like a gentle welcome—a slow exhale after our busy routines.
From there, it was all about letting go of stress and embracing the moment. We made our way to the pool, where a refreshing swim helped shake off the last bits of tension. The jacuzzi was our next stop—hot, bubbling water working its magic as we all just soaked and let time drift by. It was as if the world outside had paused for a while.
Afterward, we indulged in massages, and let me tell you, it was just what our tired minds and bodies needed. The gentle pressure and the calming atmosphere melted away all those stiff, nagging knots from sitting at desks all day.
Later that evening, we tackled an “Exit Game”—The Secret Lab. It was a great way to engage our minds in a different way, working together to solve puzzles and escape the scenario. I love how moments like these give us a different perspective on each other’s problem-solving styles, building camaraderie in a fun, low-stakes environment.
After a day full of activities, we enjoyed a delicious dinner that brought everyone together over laughter and great conversation. It was the perfect end to the day—connecting with each other outside the typical workday context, sharing stories, and truly enjoying each other’s company.
We slept like logs that night, our bodies completely relaxed from the spa treatments, knowing we’d created memories to hold onto. The next morning, we reluctantly packed our things and headed home, feeling recharged and closer as a team.
Örums Nygård was a wonderful blend of rest and fun, and I’m already thinking about how nice it would be to return someday—maybe with friends, or perhaps just for a peaceful solo escape. If you’re ever in Skåne and need a place that lets you both unwind and have a bit of fun, this place is a gem.
We ended our stay with x-mas gifts for everyone, this year a Haglöfs jacket to keep warm in the coming months of winter.
